Kneaders Famous Caramel Syrup Recipe

A good syrup recipe can make pancakes, crepes and French toast taste even better. While you can purchase bottles of our caramel syrup at your local Kneaders and online, it is also very simple to make at home.

Ingredients: 

1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup buttermilk
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Instructions:

Heat a medium or large stockpot over medium high heat. Make sure the sides of the pot or pan are tall to prevent the syrup from bubbling over.

Melt the butter in the heated pan and stir in the buttermilk and sugar. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil and boil for one minute.

Remove the pan from heat and whisk in the vanilla and baking soda. The mixture will bubble and grow. That’s okay! Keep whisking until the bubbles are gone and the mixture reaches a caramel syrup consistency.

Drizzle warm syrup over Kneaders Overnight French Toast or your favorite pancake recipe.
